Notre Dame: Fighting Irish

Count me among those who never would have guessed that Notre Dame would emerge as the top team in college football at the end of the regular season.  Alas, here we are!  Hats off to the Fighting Irish for finishing on top.  I'm counting down the days until the showdown with Alabama in the BCS Championship Game (January 7, 2013 -- mark your calendars).

I once spent a lovely summer in Ann Arbor, and my dad is a huge Michigan fan, so I was thrilled to see that Michigan came in at number 25 last week (after shutting out Illinois 45-0.  Extreme.)

Stilettos on the Gridiron: Baylor Bears

This week's second installment of Stilettos on the Gridiron features the Baylor Bears, who, at 3-0 three weeks into the season, seem to be adjusting to life without RG3 rather well. (Speaking of RG3, here's hoping that he's taking it easy -- well, as easy as an NFL starting quarterback can take it in the middle of the season -- following Sunday's game.)
