As far as luxury brands go, consider Marni the younger, eclectic sister of more established brands. Launched in 1994 by Consuelo and Gianni Castiglioni, Marni quickly became known for graphic prints, quirky designs and luxurious materials.

- During the 2012 run of Salone del Mobile, an international furniture fair in Milan, Marni debuted a line of furniture manufactured by Colombian prison inmates as part of a program designed to assist the inmates with readjusting to life outside of prison.
- The Marni x H&M collaboration was one of H&M's most successful designer collaborations.
